R Restarts game but with working timer. Time needs to be adjusted...not much time yet!

I Opens the item pane, only really useful in section 3

S Opens the stat pane but might be danferous if opened before dungeon section...(nice bug!)

Time Left Bar Shows the percentage of your time left. It is frozen on your first attempt but it will activate when using restart and on the next level. Only affects token levels (Section 1 of each level)

How do I ... Enter my Name?

name2.gif - 10kb
The Change Menu
When you start the game you are asked to enter your name, this is the name you will be known as.
If you don't enter a name you will be given a default name. This can be changed at any time in the Change Menu. However if you lose your name to a monster you will henceforth be called by the monster's name, for example, "An Evil Rat." If you risk something you do not have your name will change to "The Cheat". If this happens you cannot change your name in the change menu. Some characters wont help cheats so watch your stake!

How do I ... Catch the Tokens?

The Tokens Panel The tokens are caught by clicking and dragging them into your Swag Bag. There is a definite knack to this and you will get better at it with practice. A graph showing you how many of each token type you have caught will be shown on the game screen and a column will indicate how many tokens you have caught altogether. Any caught tokens will also show up in a label beside the appropriate button. You cannot use your tokens until you advance to the next level.
To begin with the time counter is disabled but later in the game you will only have so much time to catch the tokens. Your different token types are added to the panels token and you will be able to use them in card or dungeon levels. So try to choose wisely. Some tokens are more useful in different levels!

How do I ... Play the Card Game Level?

When you play opponents you can usually win by using certain tokens but this means you wont have them any longer when you enter the dungeon. When you first start the game you will be quite weak so you will have to rely on your tokens more. Some opponents are stronger than others so you need to play skilfully. One token type can wipe out your opponent right away if you use it at the right time! Of course, this token type is not so useful when you enter the dungeons of Solundria. After you win a few games your cards wont matter so much so you wont have to discard so many.
At the start of the card game you are dealt 20 cards and you can play until they are finished. These cards are chosen randomly and comprise your deck for the remainder of the game. You will maybe be able to improve your deck when you reach the dungeon. Some cards have negative values which will subtract from your abilities, others add to your abilities. Each round of a game consists of one hit, a swerve, a block, an event, an item and a spell. The first player to reach 100 at the end of their turn wins, or the first player with 0 at the end of their turn loses.
You discard cards by clicking on them. You use tokens by clicking on their buttons in the Tokens Panel.
Sometimes an opponent puts up a special prize and these are very useful when you enter the dungeon. At the start of each round you play a different opponent. First you choose a stake to risk from the risk panel. The risks you may choose from are calculated when you first enter the card level. When you are happy with your hand click on the play these cards button. It will change to a playing these cards label and your cards are now set for the round.
Click on the take turn button to start the play. You hit the monster for the value of your strength plus/minus the amounts your cards have added to your stats. Above the five cards you have been dealt the monsters 5 cards are displayed. Monsters dont have negative value cards but they are stuck with the cards they are dealt with and cant change them. stats.gif - 72kb At the top left of the playing board, both you and your opponents stats are displayed. Each stat is associated with a different card type. For instance if you have a weapon card with a value of 7 then 7 is added to your strength. If you have a magic card with value minus 4 then 4 is deducted from your magic points. After being hit each player has 5 turns to heal their injury. So if you hit the monster for 20 they add 5 amounts to their strength ie: swerve, defence, magic, luck and an item value. This means they usually end up stronger than they were before you hit them! You have the same advantages when it is your turn to be hit. Remember the first player to reach 100 can win. If a player has a strength less than 1 they are not dead till they have used their 5 recovery values and it is the other players turn. status.gif - 60kbThe amounts each player is hitting for and their current strength is shown in the used card piles of each player. While playing you can use your tokens to help you win at any time. Tokens have different results depending on their type. Each type always has the same effect. Dont waste your tokens by using them at the wrong time! For example there is one token that can reduce your opponents strength to -20! If you used this on him towards the beginning of his healing phase then he has more chances to recover. If you used it at the end of his turn then he would be dead and you will have one that opponent. When you win you gain whatever the monster used as a stake. This could be something like plus 5 to your 5 to your magic or plus 20 to your strength. You can also gain items that will be useful when you enter the dungeon. Each monster can risk their special prize but this is decided randomly at the start of each round. Winning something like a map can be very useful later. If you lose because your strength is less than 1 or your opponent reached 100 then you lose whatever you risked at the start of the round. After a round is finished click on the next opponent button and you will face a different monster. The monsters you play are completely random and you may play a monster type more than once in a game. When you have used all your cards you are transported to the dungeon with whatever assets you have left after the card game. With practice you will very seldom lose a round but this level is about equipping yourself as well as possible, for the dungeon and trying to keep some tokens for that too. Tokens can be more useful in the dungeon and can be used to open chests. Remember that it especially helps if you win a map!
The best way to learn the game is to play it.

How do I ... Choose my stake?

Risk Panel First you choose a stake to risk from the risk panel. The risks you may choose from are calculated when you first enter the card level. They are totally random and each time you play a card game they will differ. Try not to risk things you will need when you enter the dungeons of Solundria. E.g. Its maybe better to lose 5 points to your speed than your weapon! You make a choice then press the 'I Risk' button.

How do I ... Choose a Hand to Play?

Each time you start a round with a monster your card piles will contain the top card of each pile. If you have no cards left to play of that type then the pile will be empty. Discard unwanted cards by clicking on them. When you are happy with your hand click on the play these cards button and it will change to a playing these cards label a hand of cards
