TaskMeister

Download TaskMeister
task manager
I wrote this as part of a VCWE (Virtual Collaborative Working Envitonment) project when I was a student. It is ideal for managing projects and taking research notes. It saves task lists in c:/Tasks and friend's task lists can be opened by moving them to the tasks folder. All task files in the folder are given a number which you type to open the list. Its extremely easy to use but it doesnt have a print function, I use a screen capture if I need to print. It also has a timer to time tasks and an alarm to remind you to do something else. TaskMeister can run in Win98, WinXP, Vista, and Linux Fedora 6. It can probably run in other platforms but these are the ones I have tested it on. It has the occasional bug but nothing major and I use it often. Cut and paste can be used in the note pane by using ctl-C and ctl-V I dont think it would crash your hard drive or anything , its never done that with me but dont hold me responsible if it does anything like that! It doesnt have malware in it and it is quite robust. I released it as open source and it has been downloaded over 1500 times on Sourceforge.

Download Group Manager

The manager application was originally used to set up a virtual working environment. It can be used to manage people in groups. It manages 35 people and they can be placed into 35 eooms. Groups can be shown by giving each person a colour and/or image. Originally the colour was used to set the colour of the room in the virtual buiding. The properties of the Building/People are saved in a text file called Building in the c drive. The first step is to generate a building using the build button, this allows you to give the building/project a name and specify the manager and manager's room. After this you see a grid of 35 room buttons. Clicking on a button will allow you to set the room owner's name, initials, colour and image. You can manage the building in the edit pane ang when you are done save the building so you can open it later.' '

The information on the VCWE is a bit out of date as the prototype is a fully working version apart from a networking problem. Unfortunately it has been mislaid on another machine but I will make it available sometime soon... if I can find it!
